What’s New in Cancer Research

Research at MOOH

Research is important to insure that there is further progress in treatment and care of cancer and blood diseases. Research trials also assure that our patients have access to the newest approaches and pharmaceutical agents. We are committed to clinical research. We participate in trials from the following:

  • Pharmaceutical companies (multiple in-house trials)
  • Southwest Oncology Group (National Cancer Institute-supported)
  • Eastern Cooperative Group (NCI-supported)
  • Columbus Clinical Oncology Program
  • M.D. Anderson
  • James Cancer Network

We have three fulltime research nurses and research nurses from the Columbus Clinical Oncology Program in our offices. We are committed to clinical research and encourage participation in clinical trials when trials are appropriate for individual treatment plans.

Research Nurses at Mid Ohio Oncology Hematology
Mid Ohio Oncology Hematology believes in being active in the participation of Cancer research trials. Without cancer research trials, more effective and less toxic therapies could not be discovered. Mid Ohio Oncology Hematology participates in a wide range of research trials that makes today’s cutting edge technology available to our patient population. Since we are a community based practice; we are able to maintain a more intimate, personable one on one type atmosphere that is rarely seen in today’s large research institutions.

Mid Ohio Oncology Hematology’s research department is headed by Dr. Timothy Moore. Dr. Moore has been published many times for his works in a multitude of cancer research trials and has served as the senior investigator at the National Cancer Institute, the nations largest cancer clinical research institute. We also have three dedicated full-time Registered Nurses to help plan, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of care related to the individual research trial guidelines. These nurses have both received their Oncology certification.

Mid Ohio Oncology Hematology is very selective in which cancer research trials we participate in. We offer only the most promising research trials to our patients which when combined with standard therapies allows us to offer the best possible care available to all of our patients.
